PROJECTS

We are currently working on two large wetland restoration projects. Information for each is summarized below.

Juniper Bay

Juniper Bay is a Carolina Bay that was ditched and drained for agriculture in the early 1970's. The NC Dep. of Transportation bought the site and wants to restore the wetlands on it. We have a variety of projects on the site and in three reference areas to help the NCDOT have a successful restoration. The presentations below give more information on specific objectives and current findings.

North River

This restoration project is similar to that being done at Juniper Bay. North River is a wetland on an interstream divide. Our studies are developing technologies to wetland restoration success. We are also evaluating how fast wetland functions are restored.
