Objectives

Writing a certified nutrient management plan will require attendance at several training sessions. In the RUSLE/PLAT Session, which includes both classroom and field instruction, you will:

  1. Learn how to estimate soil erosion using the USDA-Natural Resource Conservation Service's Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE).
  2. Learn the theory behind the Phosphorus Loss Assessment Tool (PLAT) as well as the practical application of PLAT.
  3. Learn how to use the PLAT computer tool.

The PLAT computer tool will be distributed to each participant.
