Overview:
As water conservation becomes mandatory in some
locales and smarter development techniques are needed, there are two
stormwater practices that help meet newer design goals: green roofs
and
water harvesting (cisterns). This workshop serves as both an introduction
to each practice and reviews design considerations for each. Research
from
NCSU studies on both green roofs and cisterns is presented as well.
Participants will partially design both a green roof and a water
harvesting system and are encouraged to bring a laptop with them.
