Specialty: Soil Management and Fertility

Research to investigate and develop alternative conservation management systems for crops grown on erodible mountain soils. This includes the application of no-tillage management for corn, tobacco, and vegetable crops; management of cover crops for enhanced nitrogen accruement and utilization; and monitoring nitrate within soil profiles under agricultural systems.
