Walnut Creek Oral History ProjectMr. James Revis

James Revis (born October 14, 1928) is a member of Saint Ambrose Episcopal Church in Rochester Heights. Over the many years that James Revis has visited Rochester Heights, he has noticed how flooding has impacted the families who live near Walnut Creek. After it was formed, Mr. Revis decided to join Partners for Environmental Justice to help take care of the creek and flooding in the community. Mr. Revis was one of seven children who grew up on a farm near Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh. As a young boy he would often go fishing in Crabtree Creek and he grew to love the environment. Mr. Revis hopes the planned education center will move people to think of new ways to improve and appreciate the environment.
