Bruce Lightner (born June 26, 1947) has family connections to the Walnut Creek area going back to his grandfather. Calvin Lightner, a farmer, owned about 130 acres in the Walnut Creek area. Bruce Lightner is a funeral home director and heads the Martin Luther King celebration committee in Raleigh. He is very active in the community through both of these pursuits. Mr. Lightner is hopeful that the flooding in Rochester Heights will become less of a problem in the future, especially for some of the businesses that are still affected by the flooding. Mr. Lightner is a cousin of Mrs. Joyner and Mrs. Daniels.
