Best Management Practices
Best management practices (BMPs) relating to waste management are those practices which optimize nutrient uptake by plants and minimize nutrient impact on the environment.
BMPs are very site specific and a BMP in one place may not be useful for another location.
A trained agronomist, soil scientist, or conservationist is the best qualified to assess whether a specific BMP is appropriate for a given site.
